It does have all the usual utilities most graphic artists would consider core to the raster graphics editing experience, though: the ability to create and work in layers on a single file, multiple brush tools with configurable properties, color selectors and palettes, and the like. The software is a relatively lightweight graphics processing utility, perhaps more comparable to SAI than programs like Adobe Photoshop or Corel Painter. Mac and Windows users should take care to download their respective versions. Mac computers running OS X 10.5.8 or newer versions will also be able to install this free computer painting program. It will work with Windows XP and Windows Vista as well, however.
FireAlpaca is a raster graphics editor of relatively new make, which explains why it is compatible with newer operating systems such as Windows 7 and Windows 8.
